Dan at Pack Addict sent over some cards today. I was surprised to find the package in the mail today. I guess you could file this in the "I totally forgot we were trading" category. I'm hoping his cards found their way to his mail box.
He sent me over a bunch of beautiful cards helping me to fill my Topps Series one needs.
A few weeks ago I decided that I would collate all my series one and two cards to make out a actual want/trade list and I realized I wanted to try and finish the set.
He killed two birds with one trade: sending me a bunch of needs who also happen to be Mets!! Whoo Hoo.
I had to work last night and was happy to see that we were leading 3-1 at one point. (I was checking scores on my cell phone.)
First thing I saw on sportscenter was the David Wright to first play.
Maybe this will be the first time in a long time that I finally get to see a winning game recap.
Yeah!!! Even Luis is excited!!!
OH no! Not this guy. Crap! Oh well, we put up a good fight for a while. I shouldn't get my hopes up like that.
As I'm writing this it looks like we are leading 9-0 over the Cards today.
Hopefully the injury to Niese isn't serious.
This is kind of fun, with all these new Mets cards I can finally do my own dorky game recaps with cards. I can't believe I still needed this many Mets from the 09 set.
He also sent this nice Matt Kemp card. Nice to see an Oklahoma guy doing well in the majors.
I can see now why people love the SP cards.
This one of Pee Wee Reese is from the '07 set. The dark border and gold lettering are really nice and the figure really pops out of the red background. The scans really don't do them justice. Also the cardboard stock is nice and thick.
Okay Yankee haters, avert your eyes now.
I didn't even know these existed. A Bowman Heritage Rizzuto card reprinted in the original size. That's the great benefit from new collectors to trade with more experienced collectors. They can introduce you to a bunch of different products you didn't even know existed.
Rizzuto in a Spiderman pose.
Another Rizzuto. This time from a Donruss team heroes. An insert maybe? A really nice black and white photo. Rizzuto is so sharp and in focus and the wooded background is nice. I wonder where this photo was taken? Maybe some spring practice facility. I'll pretend it's in upstate New York somewhere.
Every time I think of Rizzuto it's that Seinfeld episode (The Pothole) where George loses his keys with the Phil Rizzuto keychain in the asphalt in the street outside Jerry's apartment.
All in all, a real generous trade from Pack Addict. If you guys haven't checked out his blog, please do. He's the guy that won the Trader Crack contest last Monday.
Thanks again. I hope my package found its way to you too.

the word on Niese is a possible pulled hammy - ugh
yeah it looks like he's done for the season. Sigh. I guess I should be used to it by now. This year nobody on the team can remain healthy.
I'm glad you liked the cards! It's really cool to see some doubles I had laying around go to another collector who likes them. Your cards arrived in great shape and I loved closing some holes in my binder. Thanks again!
